Laurel Canyon Cabin Engagement Session | Vanessa and Tony

Vanessa and Tony’s engagement session was an unforgettable experience at a one-of-a-kind rustic musician’s cabin in Laurel Canyon, Los Angeles. This charming 1940s cabin, originally built as a weekend hunting lodge, remains a testament to the quintessential Laurel Canyon aesthetic with timeless charm. The rustic design and bohemian vibes make it a perfect backdrop for this couple's engagement photos, and it's no surprise the cabin is a popular spot for fashion, entertainment, and lifestyle photo shoots. What I found extra special, was how the owner actually lives in the space with their children. We were treated to not only the rustic design, but sweet touches of a house lived and loved in.

It’s incredible how love stories evolve, and Stephanie and Franco’s journey is no exception. I had the pleasure of meeting up with them at the stunning Kubota Gardens in Seattle, WA for a special photo session with their dog, Winky. Winky, who is 8 years old, was adopted by Stephanie and Franco from a shelter when they were living in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Spring Lost Gulch Lookout Engagement Session | Kayleigh and Sean

I had the absolute joy of photographing Kayleigh and Sean’s engagement session at Lost Gulch Lookout in Colorado, a place that holds so much meaning for them. Not only is it one of the most scenic spots in the area, but it’s also the very place where Sean proposed to Kayleigh on October 12, 2021, during a cozy weekend getaway to Breckenridge. Talk about full-circle moments!

Saint Edward State Park Engagement Session | Anne and David

When Anne and David suggested we head over to The Lodge at St. Edward Park for their Washington engagement session, I was stoked to get to go somewhere new! The Lodge at St. Edward Park is an absolutely gorgeous restored building next to 326 acres of forest land. Originally built in the 1930s on nearby land, this historic building has a claim to fame as a historic seminary for 45 years.

Sultan River Engagement Session in Washington | Sam and Tyler

If you’re new here, I have to let you know that I am a giant proponent for dog engagement sessions. Not only are they part of your family and should absolutely be included, but they can also give you a chance to feel more at ease in front of the camera! (and I get to smoosh their little face the entire time!) When I started chatting with Sam and Tyler, we knew we had to include their German Shepherd, Milo.

Colorado Winter Engagement Session | Callie and Ben

It’s not every year that we get winter in May, but it just so happened when it was time to photograph Callie and Ben for their Colorado engagement session. After a few conversations about the best location to go to accommodate their two dogs, Lexi and Smoky, we decided on The Trading Post Trail outside of the Red Rock Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado. I absolutely love photographing at this location, as the trademark red rock formations are a photographer’s dream!

Montrose Harbor Engagement Session in Chicago | Lili and Jim

It is so fun to photograph in new locations in Chicago for engagement sessions, and when Lili and Jim suggested the Montrose Harbor, I was stoked! Not only is Montrose Harbor dog friendly, which is a must when you’re bringing your four-legged family member, but it also has some incredible views of the Chicago skyline. Located on the northern edge of Lincoln Park, Montrose Harbor is a short walk from Montrose Beach.

Sunset Engagement Session at Leo Carrillo State Beach | Jenn and Stuart

Sometimes California pulls out all of the stops, and that was definitely the case for Jenn and Stuart’s sunset engagement session at Leo Carrillo State Beach. Not only did we get a picture perfect sunset, their son SJ even joined us for a few spur of the moment family photos. While I don’t work full time in California any longer, trips like these sure make me miss the weather- and dare I say it, even the beach.

Engagement Session at Guanella Pass | Maggie and Jon

There is absolutely no better way to spend an engagement session at Guanella Pass then by bringing your dog and a picnic blanket- and of course going in the fall. Maggie and Jon knew they wanted those magic fall colors for our meetup, so we watched the weather and we were rewarded immensely by the verdant yellow colors. With Bear in tow, we were stoked to go on a short little journey and be able to not only see the trees this area is so famous for, but immerse ourselves in them!

South Pond Engagement Session in Chicago | Charlotte and Stephen

After going over their favorite places in the city for their engagement session, Charlotte and Stephen decided on the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk (as it just so happened to be across the street from their house), and the lakeside North Avenue Beach. Funny enough, two nights prior I had a similar itinerary when hanging out with Maria and Matt! What I absolutely love about photographing in the city of Chicago, is just how different every location can look depending on not only the season you go there, but also the day.

Paddle Boarding (SUP) Engagement Session in Colorado | Elise and Eric

Did an engagement session with a paddle board legend really happen if you didn’t go paddle boarding? I think not. I met up with Elise and Eric for their stand up paddle boarding (SUP ) engagement session at Chatfield State Park in Littleton, Colorado. This beautiful park centers on the expansive reservoir fed by the South Platte river and boasts views of rolling hills and abundant wildlife. While all that would normally be my focus when out at such a place, my task today was to capture Elise and Eric in their true element for their engagement session!

After pulling up to this stunning location, we were greeted with a bit of rain. Luckily for us, it stopped almost instantly!

Long Lake Engagement Session in Boulder, Co | Carrie and Eran

2020 was a monster of a year, but it did give me a chance to get to know Carrie and Eran just a bit better before their Mount Princeton Hot Springs wedding in Colorado! With a portion of Eran’s family traveling from overseas, they had to postpone till the next year while waiting for international travel restrictions to lift- which I totally get. These two have a whole weekend of wedding events planned, and having the whole family together for them will make for an unforgettable experience.
