Spring Lost Gulch Lookout Engagement Session | Kayleigh and Sean
I had the absolute joy of photographing Kayleigh and Sean’s engagement session at Lost Gulch Lookout in Colorado, a place that holds so much meaning for them. Not only is it one of the most scenic spots in the area, but it’s also the very place where Sean proposed to Kayleigh on October 12, 2021, during a cozy weekend getaway to Breckenridge. Talk about full-circle moments!
The Proposal: A Perfectly Timed Surprise
Let’s rewind a little: When Sean popped the question, Kayleigh knew it was coming. She had, after all, helped pick out her own engagement ring a few months before. But even though she saw it coming from a mile away, it still caught her by surprise when he got down on one knee at the lookout. “Honestly, I kind of preferred it that way,” she told me with a laugh. But it wasn’t just the proposal that had Kayleigh cracking up—it was how many signs were pointing to that moment. The real plot twist came when Kayleigh answered the door a few days before the proposal, only to find a special delivery—her engagement ring. Yes, the very same ring Sean had spent weeks picking out with a nervous energy that could’ve rivaled a mountain storm. “I was SO nervous,” Sean admitted. Can you blame him, though? This was 8 years in the making!
As Kayleigh reflected on their journey, she said, “My favorite thing about Sean is how truly fun he makes our life together. He really is my best friend in the entire world. He is constantly making me smile and laugh, reminding me to take a step back and not stress. He is the perfect combination of serious when he needs to be, but at the end of the day is such a goofball. I love everything about him, for real!” Honestly, if you’ve ever spent any time with these two, you can feel that energy—they’re the kind of couple that effortlessly makes everyone around them feel at ease and full of joy.
Sean echoed those sentiments, saying, “My favorite thing about Kayleigh is how she always makes me feel so loved. She is the kindest person I know and she always shows me how much she cares. She gives me confidence and makes me feel like I can accomplish anything with her support. Nothing can get me down when I know that she loves me. But honestly, I love everything about Kayleigh.” It’s easy to see why these two are so perfectly matched. They balance each other out in all the best ways, and their love radiates every time they look at one another.
Lost Gulch Lookout Engagement Session: Perfect Weather and Furry Friends
Flash forward to their engagement session, where the picturesque backdrop of the Lost Gulch Lookout did not disappoint. We had perfect weather—clear skies, golden hour light, and of course, their two adorable pups, Mia and Milly, who were total rockstars for the camera. If you know me, you know I’m all about including your pets in engagement photos, and these two furry sidekicks brought the best energy. The dogs had as much fun running around the cliffs as Sean and Kayleigh did, and it made for some of the most joyful photos of the day. There’s something so special about capturing not just a couple's love, but the full picture, and their dogs are such an important part of that!
These two have spent years building a beautiful life together, and now they’re planning to get married at Oswego Hills Vineyard in Oregon—a place that fits their vibe perfectly. It’s going to be a beautiful day full of love, laughter, and, I’m sure, a little bit of nervous energy.
Thank you for letting me capture this sweet chapter of your love story, Kayleigh and Sean! I can’t wait to document the next chapter at Oswego Hills Vineyard.
If you’re planning your own engagement session (with or without pups but preferably with), don’t hesitate to reach out. Let’s make it as unique and beautiful as your love! Also check out some Colorado engagement sessions below.
