Engagement Session at Guanella Pass | Maggie and Jon

There’s no better way to spend a fall engagement session at Guanella Pass than with your pup, a picnic blanket, and those unbeatable golden aspens. Maggie and Jon knew they wanted that signature Colorado autumn glow, so we waited patiently for the right weekend. It was worth it. The trees lit up the landscape with bright yellows that framed their session perfectly.

Dog-Friendly Guanella Pass Engagement Photos

There’s no better fall backdrop than Guanella Pass with golden aspens, your pup, and a picnic blanket. Maggie and Jon waited for that signature autumn glow, and oh, was it worth it. With their dog Bear leading the way through aspen groves, every frame felt warm and intentional.

Guanella Pass is very pet-friendly, but dogs must be on a handheld leash at all times. It’s one of the best dog-friendly scenic byways in Colorado, rules are simple and easy to follow, and the colors can be magical at the right time of the year.

From a Denver Concert to a Life of Adventure

Their love story began a little farther down the mountain, at Larimer Lounge in Denver, where Jon planned an epic first date by surprising Maggie with a concert by Elliot Lipp. From that moment on, their relationship took off. Between Red Rocks shows, trips to Arapahoe Basin, and weekend hangs with Bear, they built a love full of adventure and intention.

Somewhere in between it all, Jon was quietly designing and choosing Maggie’s engagement ring. Two years after that first date, during a visit to Maggie’s hometown in New York, he proposed in front of her whole family, and the brisket her dad was smoking.

Colorado Mountain Engagement Session at Guanella Pass

When it came time to choose a wedding venue, their many trips to Arapahoe Basin made the decision easy. That 11,000-foot view had already become special to them, so it felt only right to say “I do” there. Returning to the mountains for their Colorado mountain engagement session at Guanella Pass tied everything together beautifully.

An Adventurous Love Story Worth Celebrating

One of the first things Maggie noticed about Jon was a quote on his Hinge profile: “Buy the ticket, take the ride.” That adventurous spirit still defines them today.

I’m so excited to be along for this ride with Maggie, Jon, and Bear. Their wedding at Arapahoe Basin in Dillon, Colorado is sure to be unforgettable, especially with a view like that and an Oxygen Bar planned for guests. I can’t wait to celebrate with them soon.
