Engagement Session at Guanella Pass | Maggie and Jon

There is absolutely no better way to spend an engagement session at Guanella Pass then by bringing your dog and a picnic blanket- and of course going in the fall. Maggie and Jon knew they wanted those magic fall colors for our meetup, so we watched the weather and we were rewarded immensely by the verdant yellow colors.

With Bear in tow, we were stoked to go on a short little journey and be able to not only see the trees this area is so famous for, but immerse ourselves in them! 

Guanella Pass is a little different from where these two met on their first date, when Jon pulled out all the stops and took them to a surprise concert by Elliot Lipp at the Larimer Lounge in Denver. With a first date as incredible as that, it’s not hard to see why these two fell so quickly in love! In between trips to Red Rocks to see more concerts, tons of visits to Arapahoe Basin, and of course tons of love from Bear; its a wonder where Jon found the time to secretly design and pick out Maggie’s engagement ring. But lo and behold, 2 years after that fateful night at Larimer Lounge during a trip to Maggie’s hometown in New York, Jon popped the big question in front of all her family, and the brisket her Dad was smoking. 

With wedding planning commenced, they knew that their seasonal trips to Arapahoe Basin were more than just a pretty place, and they picked the incredible 11,000 elevation location to tie the knot. It was only fitting to go back into the mountains at Guanella Pass for their engagement session. 

Maggie says one of the things she first loved about Jon was the quote on his Hinge profile that read, “Buy the ticket, take the ride.”

And I’m beyond stoked to be on this ride together with Maggie and Jon (and of course Bear!) for their wedding journey. I can’t wait to celebrate with the three of them at Arapahoe Basin for what will sure be quite the view, and quite the experience- even if we all end up at the Oxygen Bar they’re so kindly providing!
