Engagement Session at Anderson Ranch Reservoir in Idaho | Tiffany and Curtis

Anderson Ranch Reservoir, located north of Mountain Home, Idaho, was perfect for Tiffany and Curtis’ engagement session. Not only are the couple Mountain Home locals, but they met fishing (more on that later!). The high desert surrounding the reservoir provided a stunning backdrop. Later, we headed to a spot overlooking the South Fork Boise River to watch the sunset. The beautiful vista and authentic interactions between this sweet couple were this documentary photographer’s dream!

A Mountain Home Love Story

Tiffany and Curtis share a love of fishing that forms the foundation of their love story. They met through the Mountain Home Hawg Hunters, a local fishing club, when Curtis drew Tiffany as his tournament partner. “After fishing together all day, he asked me to hang out again and fish,” Tiffany says. “After fishing a few times, he asked me on a date!”

That first date was just the start of a beautiful love story! Then, in July 2024, Curtis popped the question. “He was nervous! He took me back to where we first kissed,” Tiffany says. “I didn’t know what was happening and wondered why he looked like he would pass out. When he finally asked, I was so excited! I think I forgot to say yes!”

Engagement Session at Anderson Ranch Reservoir

Tiffany and Curtis enjoy fishing together at Anderson Ranch Reservoir. So, when brainstorming locations for their engagement session, we couldn’t think of a more fitting spot! First, we met at a local coffee shop to get to know each other and review their timeline. Then, we headed out to shoot!

After shooting at the reservoir, we drove up the road to a nearby picnic area with gorgeous lighting. We snapped a few portraits there, and then the couple changed outfits for their photos overlooking the South Fork Boise River. During their session at the overlook, the couple did their signature chest bump, which they later recreated on their wedding day. I love the friendship between these two!

Tiffany and Curtis’ one-year-old Golden Retriever, Tilly, joined us for part of the session. The couple adopted her locally from a Mountain Home family, and she was right at home amid the reservoir’s rugged terrain. I love photographing couples with their fur babies! Nothing relaxes us animal-lovers in front of the camera like puppy cuddles!

I had so much fun documenting Tiffany and Curtis’ engagement at Anderson Ranch Reservoir! It was a pleasure to meet them and explore the Mountain Home area.
