Montrose Harbor Engagement Session in Chicago | Lili and Jim
It’s always fun getting to photograph in new Chicago spots, and when Lili and Jim suggested Montrose Harbor for their engagement session, I was stoked. Nestled on the northern edge of Lincoln Park, this location is just a short walk from Montrose Beach, and it’s one of the more underrated gems for skyline views. Bonus points: it’s dog-friendly, which was perfect since they brought along their four-legged family member, Copper.
Where It All Began
One of the best parts of photographing Lili and Jim here was knowing this area holds so much meaning for them. Not only was Lincoln Park the site of their first date, but it’s also where Jim popped the question. While we didn’t shoot directly in the park, Montrose Harbor gave us all the scenery, and none of the crowds. That’s a rare win in Chicago.
Battling the Windy City in Style
In true Windy City fashion, Lake Michigan had some serious gusts in store for us. But Lili and Jim were total pros. Lili wore a sweet white summer dress that flowed perfectly in the breeze, and Jim kept it classic in a navy blue button-up. Copper showed up in style too, with a white bandana that read, “My humans are getting married.” Safe to say he stole the show more than once.
I can’t wait to see these two again for their Valley Lo Club wedding and photograph them on another day full of love, laughter, and hopefully a little less wind.
It was so much fun to photograph Lili and Jim and their adorable dog! Montrose Harbor is the perfect blend of lake views, skyline backdrops, and open space. Ready to make it your engagement session location? Let’s chat. Also, check out some more engagement sessions featuring dogs below!
