It was such a blast getting to photograph Eve for her Evergreen Arboretum and Gardens Cake Smash in Everett, Washington! We started off with some cute one-year-old photos, with Eve rocking a yellow jumper and sitting in a small wooden plane! Her dad can fly planes, so it only seemed appropriate to give Eve the opportunity as well.

We brought out a whole brood of them this round and started our time together with some individual and group photos. Their family owns a ranch in California, and it is simply a photographer’s dream to get to hang out there with the California setting sun and sprawling hills.

We chose this year to meet up at Folsom Lake, and even though the water level isn’t quite what is used to be, the surrounding area is still beautiful. Every year the Stahl family tries to choose a new fun location, and this year chose the Folsom Lake Marina.

We met up at Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos, California, and were welcomed by a burst of colorful trees. Fall is such a special time, and definitely one of the best times to do a family session!

We were able to get together the morning after a wedding in Winters, Ca and create some new memories for their little family. October doesn’t always look like Fall in California, but at least their yellow pallette let us pretend a little bit.

Asher was the quintessential surprise baby to the family, so he was welcomed into this world in a plethora of yellow and grey accents. It was super important to these two that their first born child, Sadie, was also included in their photography session. Sadie is a slightly spoiled, but all together perfect big sister to Asher, and absolutely fell into her roll as new protector for her baby brother.

Read MoreI swear the Bernatowicz Family gets cuter and cuter every year, and I never stop looking forward to our family session at the Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach. This has definitely become a yearly ritual, and watching Jackson grow up is my favorite part! This year, we loved dinosaurs. I can relate to this, so we spent a good portion of this session saying the dinosaur names, and well, running into the water; because who doesn’t love that?!

Besides the beautiful location, what makes Josie’s senior session so much fun is that she is the amazing daughter of my favorite local small business owner, Laura Lee's Double L Country Store. I had gotten to know Josie over the last year while frequenting her Mom’s store, so it was an absolute treat to get to hang out with her while exploring some beautiful Nebraska wilderness.

I have known Breanna since we were 8 years old, and watching her grow into a beautiful mama has been so wonderful. Charlotte came crashing into the world a little bit early, interrupting her mama’s plans for maternity photos. So I was so happy we got to finally meet up, just with this little bundle of the joy out of the womb and not in.

The Roberts Christmas Tree Farm in Pollock Pines, California is such an incredible place to capture a family of one, or a family of several, and their forest vibes continue to be one of my favorites.

Having photographed their wedding in 2016, and their family over the last couple of years; I am so thrilled to see this beautiful couple be blessed with a baby girl. The only thing missing from this session was their two pups, that luckily were able to accompany us for their family session last year.

We decided to do her maternity session by the ocean, well, since it’s Hawaii, but it’s also the place she feels the most at home. The little bundle of joy she is pregnant with in the first half of these photos, is later named Makai, meaning “toward the sea”, which is exactly what Danielle did the entirety of her pregnancy.

Dan and Andy, known to their friends as “Dandy” traveled down from Oregon to see some family, and get some updated family photos. These two were married in Malibu several years earlier, and it was so much fun to see their family grow by two beautiful twin babies.
So when the Stahl’s told me that they wanted to shoot near Menlo Park Fire Station to use a fire truck, I didn’t know that me meant he planned on borrowing one and driving it to Holbrook Palmer Park in Atherton, Ca. Michael is a firefighter, and if every shoot I ever photograph in the future has a fire truck, a dog, and two cute kids; I would be in heaven. Not to mention that it was such a pleasure getting to finally meet baby Kylan, who I photographed a year earlier when Marlee was pregnant with him!
The fire truck on the other hand, I have never had the pleasure of meeting. Old Tom was built in 1935, serving the town of Sausalito for over twenty years. In 1999, the Firefighters Association decided to give Old Tom a renovation, making him a gorgeous staple to the Menlo Park area.
I originally met this glowing mama to be at our Senior Prom, so when I had the chance to photograph Jessicca when she was pregnant with her third little one; I absolutely jumped at the chance! Roberts Christmas Tree Farm in Pollock Pines, Ca provides the perfect holiday backdrop for not only maternity photos but family photos. Their little girls played with leaves, looked for fairies, and climbed tree stumps in this beautiful woodsy area. It was hard to not fall madly in love with this family, and baby fever is a real thing when you get to hang out with two kids as sweet as these.
Read MoreI’m absolutely loving the age of four. I had the pleasure of getting to photograph the Bernatowicz family again at the Manhattan Beach Pier in Manhattan Beach, Ca. The age of four doesn’t mean that Jackson still doesn’t love his Transformer’s, but it does mean they are advanced enough that the sand at the beach would destroy them. Speaking of sand, 2018 was apparently the year of sand. From the moment the four of them (including the adorable and always loved dog Holly) stepped on the beach, Jackson could not get enough of it. From sand angels, to the spontaneous jaunt into the ocean to kick the sand; it was a good thing the family was headed to pizza for dinner. Which I can proudly say I was even invited to by Jackson himself. Go watch him grow up, because it couldn’t be cuter.

It was such a blast getting to watch these two roam around Ojai Olive Oil in Ojai California, and by these two I definitely mean Abbie and Tucker, Rebekah and Jason’s pups! I’ve gotten to hang with them two other times for their engagement session, and an anniversary session; and I pretty much love them.

Read MoreWhen Aurora and Jeff told me they were pregnant, I was over the moon excited for them. These two are the two sweetest people you will ever find, and their wedding back in 2016 at Gerry Ranch in Camarillo, Ca was the definition of hot hot hot; literally, it was 104 degrees that day. What made this so much better was their mutual love of boats. They wore basically the cutest hats for their engagement shoot, and they tied in perfectly with the Ventura Harbor Village for their maternity shoot. From boats to this stunning Juniper tree, this entire session was a piece of sunset heaven. Their soon to be baby girl, Juniper, would definitely agree.
