Folsom Lake Family Session | Stahl Family

I always love meeting up with the Stahl family year after year, and it is made even sweeter by having started this journey before they were even married! We chose to meet up at Folsom Lake this year, and even though the water level isn’t quite what it used to be, the surrounding area is still beautiful. Every year the Stahl family tries to choose a new fun location, and this year they chose the Folsom Lake Marina.

Folsom Lake is a reservoir on the American River, offering hiking, camping, boating opportunities, and much more. I grew up driving past this lake on a daily basis, so it always feels like coming home when I get to hang out in my old stomping grounds.

We started in a nearby tree outcrop, waiting for the sun to go down a bit before descending on the waterline. We were pretty much alone for the beautiful sunset we encountered and were able to sneak right down to the water for some reflections. It blows my mind how fast children grow, and that definitely applies to the Stahl kids. I can’t wait to hang out with this group again next time and see how much bigger they get!
