Rustic Ranch Family Session | Pellegrini Family

I love hanging out with the Pellegrini clan and photographing their growing family! We brought out a whole brood of them this round and started our time together with some individual and group photos. Their family owns a ranch in California, and it is simply a photographer’s dream to get to hang out there with the California setting sun and sprawling hills.

After knocking out some group photos, Angelina and Jordan took an ATV up the hill to chase the sunset before losing it. I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding a few years ago, and I love watching them grow into a family. I have to say my favorite new family session prop of all time is this blow-up cow the family had! It proved a perfect location for the boys to either stand next to or sit on, and it provided some true entertainment throughout the session.

What I love about photographing the Pellegrini family is that it is a perfect example of how family sessions do not have to be perfect. It’s not an easy task to control two toddlers and a dog at the same time, so my suggestion is always to just let kids be kids. They might not always listen, but the true moments of your life can be captured when they’re simply playing and having a great time.

It’s never boring getting to hang with this group, and I can’t wait to do it again next time!
