Three wedding dates and two venues later, Christina and Dane were finally able to have the wedding day of their dreams! In June 2021, at the Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach, all the people this lovely couple loved most gathered to celebrate their love story. And I couldn’t be more thrilled they chose to stick with me throughout all of the wildness—from first engagement session to final wedding day!

Emily and Ryan's intimate beachside celebration in San Diego, CA, at the Catamaran Resort, was a fairytale ending to the first chapter in their story and an exciting beginning to the next. Their family owns a ranch in California, and it is simply a photographer’s dream to get to hang out there with the California setting sun and sprawling hills.

We chose this year to meet up at Folsom Lake, and even though the water level isn’t quite what is used to be, the surrounding area is still beautiful. Every year the Stahl family tries to choose a new fun location, and this year chose the Folsom Lake Marina.

Not only did we get a picture perfect sunset, their son SJ even joined us for a few spur of the moment family photos. To honor their love for dancing, the couple filled their May 2021 wedding at Coto Valley Country Club with dancing of all kinds, from intimate choreographed dances to full group hurrahs to the tune of “We Are Family.” Basically, it was the most fun celebration ever!

It was only fitting after doing our first engagement session at Victoria Beach, to catch back up at Vasquez Rocks, and repeat the glorious process!

We were able to get together the morning after a wedding in Winters, Ca and create some new memories for their little family. They were on a last minute vacation with their family, shouting above the background noise to schedule an engagement session at Treasure Island Beach in Laguna Hills. I love this place for all the incredible tide pools, and background diversity. (It even makes a great spot for a few maternity photos, as I’ve found out before!) Even though we were not blessed with a typical California sunset, Jordyn and Matt lit up the area with their shining personalities, and obvious love for each other.

This has definitely become a yearly ritual, and watching Jackson grow up is my favorite part! This year, we loved dinosaurs. I can relate to this, so we spent a good portion of this session saying the dinosaur names, and well, running into the water; because who doesn’t love that?!

The Coto Valley Country Club is hidden behind the gates of the luxurious Coto de Caza community, home to events from the 1984 Summer Olympics! Danni and Adam chose to decorate this already picturesque venue with blush and champagne flowers, although it truly was not necessary as the trees were bursting with fall colors.

I have known Breanna since we were 8 years old, and watching her grow into a beautiful mama has been so wonderful. Charlotte came crashing into the world a little bit early, interrupting her mama’s plans for maternity photos. So I was so happy we got to finally meet up, just with this little bundle of the joy out of the womb and not in.

The Roberts Christmas Tree Farm in Pollock Pines, California is such an incredible place to capture a family of one, or a family of several, and their forest vibes continue to be one of my favorites.

Carmichael is a small city outside of Sacramento, and not one that most people would associate with a destination wedding- but I am here to prove all you naysayers wrong. After meeting on Bumble and sharing an incredible first date, they shared that “we've been inseparable ever since,” leading us to this once in a lifetime wedding location. Traveling from Austin, Texas; these two combined Aurel’s Romanian culture and Sarah Elizabeth’s love of the American River to create one unique and unforgettable romantic wedding.

Known for their famous 'Pirate Tower’, Victoria Beach is incredibly picturesque with its white sand beach and historical accolades. The downside of any beach engagement session would definitely have to be how the ocean just knows that you are wearing white, but Christina and Dane laughed all the way through their session- even after being soaked to the bone!

What made Emily and Matt's wedding day special at Quail Ranch in Simi Valley, Ca was their dream to have the perfect unperfect wedding that reflected their love and unconventional relationship. Emily dreamed of an unpolished look, fulfilling it with mismatched rose and cream bridesmaid dresses and free-form cascading bouquets. The two of them also dreamed of an outdoor wedding!
