Sunset Engagement Session at Leo Carrillo State Beach | Jenn and Stuart
Sometimes California really shows off, and that was definitely the case for Jenn and Stuart’s sunset engagement session at Leo Carrillo State Beach. The sky lit up in all the right ways, the tide rolled in just so, and to top it off, their son SJ joined us for a few spontaneous family photos. While I don’t work in California full-time anymore, sessions like this one make me miss the ocean air and sunshine.
From Honolulu to the California Coast
Jenn and Stuart first met in Honolulu while attending Chaminade University, introduced by a mutual friend. They didn’t start dating right away, in fact, they waited two years before officially becoming a couple. But once they did, it didn’t take long to know this was something lasting. After five more beautiful years of growth and love, they decided to take the next step toward marriage.
Leo Carrillo State Beach gave us the perfect mix of drama and intimacy for their session. Jenn and Stuart spent the evening running through the waves, climbing along boulders, and yes, Stuart even broke out a few fireman carries. It was playful, romantic, and everything a beach engagement session should be. Seeing little SJ join in made it even sweeter, and I can only imagine how adorable he and baby Benjamin will be at the wedding.
A Wedding Destination with Heart: Cambria Pines Lodge
After visiting Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, Ca on a rainy day, Jenn and Stuart instantly fell in love. Nestled in Cambria, California, the venue’s 25 acres of gardens and cozy lodge atmosphere felt like the perfect fit. “Every time we go back I fall even more in love with it,” Jenn shared. Their wedding day is right around the corner, and I have no doubt it’s going to be full of laughter, dancing, and heartfelt moments.
Getting to document this part of their story is an honor. Watching Jenn and Stuart parent together, laugh together, and dream about their future makes me all the more excited to capture their wedding day at Cambria Pines Lodge. With the beach behind us and the mountains ahead, this little family is ready for their next big adventure.
It was such a blast getting to spend time with Jenn and Stuart, if you’d also like to spend some time running through the waves, hit me up! Or just check out some more gorgeous couples below!
