Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area Senior Session in Gering, Ne | Josie

It is not often that I photograph seniors, but when I do I aim to shoot them at locations as beautiful as the Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area in Gering, Ne. Besides the beautiful location, what makes Josie’s senior session so much fun is that she is the amazing daughter of my favorite local small business owner, Laura Lee's Double L Country Store. I had gotten to know Josie over the last year while frequenting her Mom’s store, so it was an absolute treat to get to hang out with her while exploring some beautiful Nebraska wilderness.

Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area in Gering, Ne is home to over 1000 acres of signature rugged topography and evergreen-studded canyons. Not to mention stunning views of the North Platte River Valley from its trails and viewing platforms. I personally have not had a chance to go exploring there yet, so wandering around the landscape was an incredible fall activity.

Congratulations Josie for being a 2020 graduate! She is headed to college in Scottsbluff, Ne; and it will be so much fun to hear how she loves it whenever she comes back home to visit.
