Samantha and Sam knew they wanted to get married at the Circle Bar B Guest Ranch in Goleta, Ca for not only it’s natural beauty, but so all of their families could spend the weekend together for this rustic destination wedding in the hills. Surrounded by 1100 acres of beautiful land, this coastal mountain location is complete with horseback riding and local magnificent views.
Read MoreThere is so much I love about Katelyn and Jake’s wedding at the Chase Palm Park in Santa Barbara, Ca, that it is hard to choose just one thing to talk about! Katelyn and Jake had to switch wedding venues the week before the big day, after meticulously picking Elings Park in Santa Barbara, Ca because it “truly felt like home'“. With rain on the horizon, Chase Palm Park came to the rescue, and they were able to quickly relocate to a venue that had indoor opportunities. Having met in the entertainment world, these two paired their love of movies with their religions- creating an absolutely unique Mennonite / Jewish / Movie Lovers smorgasbord of a wedding day.
Read MoreElizabeth and Aaron toured a ton of local wineries for their wedding this spring, but they knew that Sanford Winery in Lompoc, California was it when they just kept going back.
The wedding day of Elizabeth and Aaron was a whirlwind of friends from around the world, complete with jokes, perfect weather and of course delicious wine. It was exactly how the two wanted it to be and even unknowingly described it “Definitely a natural, seamless, and joyous mood filled with happiness and love.”
I wish I had the officiant’s speech to pull from, because not only did it have everyone in giggles, but it also had everyone in tears. But what warmed my hoarder heart, was the fact that he still had the cork from a bottle of wine the couple drank years before, and unknowingly to Aaron and Elizabeth, pulled it out during his speech. Sometimes things truly do come full circle, including that cork being brought to their vineyard wedding years later.
I absolutely love working with Megan and Jonathan, and when they wanted to shoot at El Capitan State Beach in Santa Barbara, California I knew it was going to be special. El Capitan State Beach is off the beaten path, but ends up being a perfect little private beach for an engagement session, or just to take some updated couple pictures.
Read MoreCarpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve Family Session in Carpinteria, Ca is the perfect location for not only engagement photos, but family photos as well! Dan and Andy, known to their friends as “Dandy” traveled down from Oregon to see some family, and get some updated family photos. These two were married in Malibu several years earlier, and it was so much fun to see their family grow by two beautiful twin babies.
When fellow photographer Bree reached out for an engagement session before tying the knot at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, I was excited to say the least. It is always such an honor to photograph a fellow creative, and when they chose Lizards Mouth Rock in Santa Barbara, Ca for their engagement location; I knew we were going to create something magical. When I’ve gone up to Lizards Mouth Rock in the past, sometimes the wind is just too much- so I am always so happy when the Santa Barbara weather conditions line up perfectly to take some pictures.
Read MoreAndres and Rafael ended their wedding at Casa de la Guerra in Santa Barbara, Ca, but started their beautiful day at the Santa Barbara County Courthouse. Not only do I absolutely love the Santa Barbara County Courthouse in Santa Barbara, Ca for all of my weddings, but I love it even more when my couple designs their entire reception from scratch at a nearby historic home built in 1828. Andres and Rafael started their wedding day at the courthouse, getting married in the historic mural room. It has in the past been called “the unquestionable masterpiece of the courthouse interior,” and that could not be more accurate with the artwork. Designed for use in 1929, the room now serves as a ceremony venue for locals and tourists alike to get married. We wandered the courthouse doing some photos, and I can never get over how stunning the architecture is.
Read MoreYou could say that I am mildly obsessed with Lizards Mouth Rock trail in Santa Barbara, Ca. It’s hard to not be though, and it is definitely one of my favorite places for an engagement session, or a picnic, or a walk. After showing Rachel and Jon some pictures of this incredible place, it wasn’t hard to convince them that it was the perfect place for us to photograph their engagement. Rachel and Jon are getting married next October at Bella Vista Groves in Fillmore, Ca; so having some grandeur views of Santa Barbara was the absolute perfect juxtaposition for the grandeur views of Santa Clarita we will have then.
Read MoreBrittany and Johnny were married at The Gardens at Los Robles, in Thousand Oaks, Ca and their wedding was just absolutely beautiful. When they celebrated their 1 year anniversary, they wanted a photo shoot at the same venue that they got married at exactly a year later! The day was full of some amazing surprises; starting with Johnny bringing their wedding vows. Something that Brittany did not know about! After re-enacting their ceremony site, their first kiss, and even a sunset picture next to the lake we called it a day. What both Johnny and I found out later though, was that Brittany was pregnant on this anniversary with a baby boy! I’m pretty sure surprise maternity shoots are my new favorite things.

Megan and Jonathan had an absolutely beautiful elopement with their families at the San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, Ca on October 2nd. Meeting these two souls was no coincidence, as I was lucky enough for an introduction from their amazing friends Lindsey and Bryan. Being a photographer isn't always puppies and rainbows, and the summer months sometimes get a little insane. But it is weddings like these that remind us of why our jobs are so incredible, and make coming home to edit just all the more worth it!. From the moment of arriving, to staying late to capture the stars in the sky; every second was filled with such love shared throughout all individuals present.
I'm so stoked to say that this amazing wedding was featured on Artfully Wed!
This intimate vintage wedding of Ashley and Eric was held at The Fess Parker in Santa Barbara, CA. Seven years in the making, every year of love was worth it to conclude to this absolutely perfect day and evening. Ashley and Eric met in Chicago, among the windy city their love grew, even having their first kiss at the Clark and Roscoe stop waiting for the subway along the CTA; the Chicago Transit Authority for those who don't know. Friends and family traveled from all over the states to join together in this shimmering affair, enjoying the perfect weather that only Santa Barbara has to offer.

This amazing engagement session was a combination of sweet and adventure, and I was so blessed to get to spend it with these two lovebirds! Jonathan proposed to the gorgeous Megan in a coffee shop, so it only made since to start their engagement session at one as well. Sadly, their special coffee shop isn't as located as close to a beautiful beach as Lucky Llama Coffee House in Carpinteria, CA, so we instead got to experience firsthand their rustic patio and fantastic latte art.
Read MoreLove does not cover how I feel about this gorgeous elopement wedding in Santa Barbara, California between the gorgeous Danielle and Kevin. Planned in just 4 months, we started at Hotel Milo for getting ready, traveled to the Alice Keck Park Memorial Gardens for the first look, stopped by the Santa Barbara Courthouse to say vows, and ended up at the Wine Cask Restaurant for a light dinner. Wearing a to die for dress by Maggie Sottero and having the most lovely flowers by Olive & Blooms, the whole event came together with Danielle's quick but meticulous planning. This elegant affair was sweet and simple, truly representing the love that these two have.

I am so excited to get to photograph their wedding next year at the Simi Adobe-Strathearn House in Simi Valley, California.

Sean and Lisa are such an absolutely amazing couple, and I had the pleasure of getting to spend the evening with them in Santa Barbara, California for their engagement session. They met through competing in triathlons, and the entire session was filled with giggling, running, and joking that they wish they had bikes. Their love was so completely genuine, that the moments flew by and culling down their pictures was an absolute feat! From exploring El Capitan Canyon to sunset on Refugio State Beach, the golden light we encountered was a perfect reflection of the brightness and joy of their relationship!
