Engagement Session at Lizards Mouth Rock in Santa Barbara, Ca | Bree and Mark
When fellow photographer Bree reached out for an engagement session before tying the knot at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, I was excited to say the least. It is always such an honor to photograph a fellow creative, and when they chose Lizards Mouth Rock in Santa Barbara, Ca for their engagement location; I knew we were going to create something magical. When I’ve gone up to Lizards Mouth Rock in the past, sometimes the wind is just too much- so I am always so happy when the Santa Barbara weather conditions line up perfectly to take some pictures.
Lizards Mouth Rock in Santa Barbara, Ca gives a stunning view of the central California coastline all the way out to the Channel Islands on a clear day. The name ‘Lizards Mouth Rock’ comes from an outcropping of sandstone, that looks like, you guessed it, a lizards mouth. The forces of wind and water have created a cavernous system decorating where Coldwater Sandstone formations cross over the Santa Ynez Mountains. I have personally gone hiking and rock climbing up here a ton of times, and the view gets me every time!
