WeldWerks Brewing Co Engagement Session in Greeley, Co | Julia and Joey

When Joey moved to Colorado, the first brewery he walked into was WeldWerks Brewing Company in Greeley, Colorado. It was only fitting to go back to this magical place with both Julia and Joey for their engagement photos. These two are king and queen of a cute meet story, starting their dating adventure at Joe's Pizza and Joe Coffee in New York City. When Joey finally proposed in Las Vegas in the fall, Julia had no choice but to say yes; she did design her engagement ring and all.

When I first met Julia and Joey, I was so excited that their wish for their wedding day photography was to be almost completely documentarian. What might that be you ask? In short, I was given free reigns to capture their story as it happened, with very little influence from me. I absolutely love employing my background in photojournalism, and an afternoon sipping beers was the perfect place to start.

Colorado had a nice treat for us during this session, and had just had a nice dose of winter snow. Lucky for us, Weldwerks Brewery has some incredible indoor sitting! Located in downtown Greeley, this locally made and originally home brewed establishment is also a weekend home for Julia and Joey. Not only did they know everyone there, but we were allowed a tour through the back manufacturing room, and the incredible barrel room across the way.

It was such a blast getting to hang out with these two (my fiancé would absolutely agree, as he quietly sat at a table sampling a few beers himself!), and it was such a flashback to my college days to crouch behind potted plants waiting for the moment. We get to meet back up at their wedding in Chicago, and I’m so excited to spend another day adventuring (and hiding behind plants) with these two.
