Urban Downtown Omaha Engagement Session | Kori and Connor

When Kori and Connor reached out about their wedding, I was more stoked than usual, not just because I adore all of my couples, but because these two were getting married right here in Nebraska! While I’ve lived here for a couple of years, most of my work still happens out of state. So crossing paths with fellow Nebraskans? Always a treat.

From High School Sweethearts to Downtown Strolls

We planned their engagement session in downtown Omaha, even though they’d just recently moved out of state. After a few reschedules (Connor had some celebrating to do—he’s an epic football player at [insert college] and had just wrapped up a championship season), we finally found a winter date before their upcoming summer wedding.

We didn’t have a detailed plan, just a mission to find great light and urban textures. Downtown delivered. And honestly, the way these two look at each other in that golden Midwest sunset? Pure magic.

Kori and Connor have been together since high school, but their story actually starts way back in 7th grade. As Connor tells it:

“We met at noon recess. I bricked the hell out of my basketball and it rolled to Kori. She wouldn't give it back until I told her my name, and Kori doesn’t even remember that to this day. I had a crush on her even back then.”

Come on. It doesn’t get better than that.

Ending with Ice Cream & Sweet Memories

We wrapped our session at a local ice cream spot, a fitting end for a couple whose relationship has always included shared scoops and laughs. In fact, Connor proposed after a trip to Sunken Gardens in Lincoln, but not before getting (way) too much ice cream. He hilariously admits he had no idea what to do with it when it came time to pull out the ring.

Clearly, it all worked out. These two are tying the knot at Creekside Event Barn in Roca, Nebraska, later this year—and I cannot wait to celebrate with them.
