It may have taken a 6 hour drive to Sacramento, and an hour and a half drive to Truckee, Ca to find snow, but by gosh I found it! Nothing is sweeter than photographing a couples engagement photos in the same place that the proposal happened, and I was blessed with that opportunity with Michael and Marlee. After proposing at their family cabin in Truckee several months prior, we journeyed back to the same spot, and the same tree, to snuggle in the snow before their wedding in March at the Vizcaya in Sacramento, Ca.

These two gorgeous people were featured on Beach Bride! It is well worth checking out!

This amazing engagement session was a combination of sweet and adventure, and I was so blessed to get to spend it with these two lovebirds! Jonathan proposed to the gorgeous Megan in a coffee shop, so it only made since to start their engagement session at one as well. Sadly, their special coffee shop isn't as located as close to a beautiful beach as Lucky Llama Coffee House in Carpinteria, CA, so we instead got to experience firsthand their rustic patio and fantastic latte art.

It is the most magical experience to arrive to a location for an engagement session and be blessed with the most golden light every where you look! Placerita Canyon State Park, CA delivered beyond my little photographer's most wildest dreams. Not only that, but Katie and Brian brought along their gorgeous rescued Siberian Husky Dakota. We were able to wander among this hiking path and find some pretty amazing spots, even if Dakota was more interested in the squirrels than us!

It's not very often I get to combine a gorgeous road trip with an engagement session, but it seemed like the best possible moment when Alexis and Guy asked if we could shoot at Muir Woods National Monument in San Francisco, California. These two not only have a history of dates, hikes, and memories at this beautiful location- they also shared that it was the location of several scenes of filming for Star Wars! With this tiny piece of information, I was absolutely sold.

I was so stoked to get to travel up to easily one of my favorite locations in Santa Barbara, California; Knapp's Castle to photograph Kellee and Corrigan for their incredible engagement session Located up in the Santa Ynez Mountains, this dilapidated mansion from 1940 makes for the perfect sunset location overlooking the valley. I am so excited to get to photograph their wedding next year at the Simi Adobe-Strathearn House in Simi Valley, California.

I had the pleasure of meeting Audrey and Dwight for their engagement session on their trip down to California from Oregon! Traffic was a little crazy, but we arrived just in time to be encompassed by a gorgeous sunset at the Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura, Ca. These two were so perfectly in sync; that I can't wait to see the amazing images we can make on their wedding day! From the sweet touches, to the constant giggles- photographing these lovebirds was a breeze. Since Dwight grew up in this amazing area, they have chosen the stunning and historical Bard Mansion in Port Hueneme to tie the knot next January, and I absolutely cannot wait to be a part of their momentous day.

You never know how awesome people are going to be until they show up to their family photography session with a 1972 VW Kombi named Seagull and a 5 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd named Knox. These particular two awesome people go by the names of Kristen and Gavin, and have been married since 2013. Both originally from Denver, Colorado, these two turned a long distance relationship quickly into a life now lived in Ventura, California. Kristen was still in Colorado, and Gavin had moved to California, and a spontaneous decision in 2007 brought them to the city they live in now.

Sean and Lisa are such an absolutely amazing couple, and I had the pleasure of getting to spend the evening with them in Santa Barbara, California for their engagement session. They met through competing in triathlons, and the entire session was filled with giggling, running, and joking that they wish they had bikes. Their love was so completely genuine, that the moments flew by and culling down their pictures was an absolute feat! From exploring El Capitan Canyon to sunset on Refugio State Beach, the golden light we encountered was a perfect reflection of the brightness and joy of their relationship!
