Snowy Red Rocks Winter Engagement Session in Morrison, Co | Sarah and Jake
Meeting up with Sarah and Jake for their Red Rocks Amphitheater engagement session in Morrison, Colorado was the perfect way to kick off our adventure together. There’s nothing quite like a fresh dusting of snow and 20-degree mountain air to bring everyone just a little bit closer. Bundled up and full of joy, these two sweet souls were total champs as we embraced the winter magic for their Colorado engagement photos.
Red Rocks Amphitheater Engagement Session in Winter Magic
If you’ve never been, Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is one of Colorado’s most iconic outdoor venues, famous for its towering red sandstone formations, panoramic mountain views, and world-class concerts- I’ve even attended a few there myself! In the winter, the trails and amphitheater steps are quieter, making it the perfect backdrop for a romantic engagement shoot. The contrast of the snow against the deep red rock created a dreamy, intimate setting that felt like it belonged entirely to Sarah and Jake! (Which it totally did!)
Overcoming Weather Challenges for the Perfect Session
This session didn’t happen without a few hurdles. We had originally planned several different sessions across beautiful Colorado locations, but between blizzards, park restrictions, and busy schedules, Mother Nature kept us on our toes. The delays ended up being worth it though, the soft snow, moody skies, and peaceful calm of Red Rocks in the winter gave us something truly special. And yes, it was chilly… okay, really chilly… but that just made Sarah and Jake’s connection shine even brighter.
Missing a Four-Legged Guest Star
One thing that would have made the day even sweeter? Meeting their adorable pup, Chloe! Because of the snowy conditions, Chloe had to sit this one out, but I’m holding out hope she’ll make an appearance on the wedding day. You know I’m always here for engagement sessions with dogs, four legs or two!
Looking Ahead to Their Denver Botanic Gardens Wedding
When we wrapped up our Red Rocks Amphitheater engagement photos, Sarah and Jake high-fived and shouted, “We did it!” That moment told me everything I needed to know, their wedding day is going to be unforgettable.
They’ll be saying “I do” at the Denver Botanic Gardens, one of the city’s most enchanting venues. With 24 acres of meticulously curated gardens, lush seasonal blooms, and romantic winding pathways, it’s the perfect place for a summer wedding. Whether exchanging vows under a canopy of vibrant flowers or celebrating in one of the elegant event spaces, every corner of the Botanic Gardens is a photographer’s dream. I can already picture the two of them surrounded by greenery, laughter, and loved ones, and maybe even Chloe joining the celebration this time.
