Engagement Session at Bear Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park, Co | Emma and Aaron
I love shooting engagement sessions in Rocky Mountain National Park because there’s always something magical to discover, whether it’s alpine lakes, grassy valleys, or that classic Colorado light. For Emma and Aaron’s Colorado engagement session, we started at Bear Lake, and soaked in the classic mountain vibes Colorado offers all engaged couples looking for adventure.
Sitting at 9,450 feet in elevation, Bear Lake is the kind of spot that feels like it’s pulled from a dream. With reflections of Hallett Peak and the surrounding Rockies, it’s one of my favorite places to take couples looking for a classic Colorado mountain engagement location. Emma and Aaron leaned right into it, cuddling on rocks, twirling in the snow, and even practicing their first dance as a married couple.
From Snowy Peaks to Golden Meadows at Moraine Park
After soaking in the alpine vibes, we made our way to Moraine Park, another gem in RMNP with a totally different look and feel. Instead of towering peaks of snow, we were greeted by wide-open meadows, river views, and golden light. Honestly, it felt like we were transported to a whole new location, and it gave us the perfect second half of their session. Between champagne pops and spontaneous dancing, it was everything I hope for in an engagement day.
Wishing We Had Their Pup, Quinn!
The only thing missing? Their adorable Bordoodle, Quinn. Unfortunately, Rocky Mountain National Park doesn’t allow dogs on trails, but not to worry, Quinn will be making an appearance at the wedding! I can’t wait to reunite with this sweet couple (and finally meet their pup!) for their fall celebration at The St Vrain in Longmont, Colorado, a stunning industrial wedding venue I absolutely love.
