Boise Engagement Session at Kathryn Albertson Park | Abigail and James
Fall and romance were in the air for Abigail and James’s engagement session at Kathryn Albertson Park in Boise, Idaho! We shot the photos in early October, when the foliage was at its peak. Joined by the couple’s three dogs, we wandered through an autumn wonderland drenched in bright hues of red, green, and gold. It was simply lovely!
Abigail and James met on a dating app, then met in person for coffee soon afterward. A few weeks later, it was official! As time passed, the couple began building a life together, eventually adopting their dogs, as well as two cats. James decided it was time to pop the question! Abigail shares, “James proposed to me on Christmas Eve. He hid the ring in a box of presents and wrote a heartfelt speech in a card asking me to marry him. I didn’t see it coming!”
Engagement Session at Kathryn Albertson Park
Abigail and James are all about their pets, and it was important to them to bring their three dogs, Koda, Reeses, and Freya, to their engagement session. The couple is also nature lovers who envisioned their photos with beautiful outdoor backdrops. So, when I helped them brainstorm locations for their Boise engagement session, Kathryn Albertson Park came to mind immediately. With tons of space for the pups to roam and the added benefit of fall colors, it was the perfect spot! We were even lucky enough to see some ducks while we were there.
Something I always try to do to help my couples feel comfortable behind the camera is encourage them to be their authentic, silly selves! Abigail and James are both fun-loving people with great affection for their pets, especially their three dogs. During their session, we spent lots of time playing with their dogs and interacting with them to ensure they were included in the images. Each pup even had an individual portrait taken!
Fall Engagement Session Outfits
The outdoor setting and the fall season inspired Abigail and James’s engagement session outfits! Abigail began the session in a floral midi dress, while James wore a simple white button-down and black pants. Then, midway through the session, the pair changed into darker, autumnal hues. Abigail wore a black jumpsuit, and James donned a maroon button-down paired with a black necktie with a gold floral pattern. They looked ready for a date night in Boise!
I’m so glad I could photograph Abigail and James’s engagement session at Kathryn Albertson Park! I look forward to capturing their wedding day at the Wild Rose Manor in Caldwell, Idaho, this September.
