Fall Wedding at Creekside Event Center in Colorado Springs, Co | Isabel and Danny
When Isabel and Danny started planning their wedding, they wanted a space that could capture both her vision for romance and his love of an unforgettable party. Creekside Event Center ended up being the perfect fit.
“I can't wait to make it a romantic and warm fall wedding,” Isabel told me early in the planning process. The venue’s loft space was a big draw for her, especially since there weren’t many photos of it online. “I’m excited to bring my vision to life,” she shared. Danny, on the other hand, had his priorities set on the vibe. “I love festivities and to dance,” he grinned. They both commented on the “spaciousness of the venue”, so it’s easy to see why Creekside Event Center became the perfect spot.
A Loft Ceremony at Creekside Event Center
The loft at Creekside Event Center was warm and glowing, dressed in their fall palette of pink, sunset orange, and burgundy. Isabel shared a quiet, emotional first look with her dad before making her way toward the ceremony.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day for them was having Danny’s step-dad officiate. “Danny's step dad is marrying us, which will be very special,” Isabel shared. During the ceremony, a religious song played, building toward a powerful moment when the bridal party came around them in a circle for a prayer.
They also included a unity candle lighting with their moms, a tradition where each person lights a smaller candle and together, they use them to ignite a single flame. It’s a symbolic way of saying two lives, and two families, are now united into one. For Isabel and Danny, it was a quiet but profound reminder of the new chapter they were starting together.
From Accounting Class to Sloan’s Lake
Their story started in a way that could have been pulled straight from a rom-com, four accounting classes together at CSU. Isabel laughs about it now, saying they “booked a receivable for the ‘cute’ part.”
Fast forward a few years, and both ended up living near Sloan’s Lake. One day, Isabel posted a photo of her dog Ralph and the lake, and Danny slid into her DMs. “The lake proved to be much more romantic than accounting class,” Isabel said, and after their first date there, they became inseparable.
The proposal caught Isabel completely off guard. “There were zero hints,” she admitted. The night before they closed on their first home, Danny suggested a walk at Sloan’s Lake, but instead drove her to Mt. Falcon Park, under the pretense of helping his sister look for a missing Bernese mountain dog.
As they walked toward a gazebo, Isabel noticed candles and photos. “I started crying, and then Danny started crying,” she remembered. Somewhere in the blur of happy tears, she heard him say, “life is better shared with someone.”
Engagement Session at Loveland Pass
Before the wedding day arrived, we met up for their engagement session at Loveland Pass, one of the most scenic high-altitude spots in Colorado. At over 11,000 feet, the sweeping mountain views, crisp alpine air, and winding road created a backdrop that was both dramatic and intimate.
It felt fitting for them, a couple who loves the mountains but also knows how to kick back and just enjoy the moment. We laughed, explored, and took in the golden light that spilled over the peaks. Just like on their wedding day, Danny’s energy kept us moving, and Isabel’s sweet, grounded presence brought such a calm to the session. By the time the sun dipped below the ridge, it felt like the perfect warm-up to the celebration still to come.
A Party to Remember
After cocktail hour, everyone gathered in the spacious Grand Hall for dinner and dancing. Isabel smiled when she told me, “Most of the decorations have been things we picked out ourselves,” and seeing the room brought to life with their personal touches made it even more special.
The wedding party made a memorable entrance in full costumes, setting the tone for an unforgettable reception. Danny had been talking for months about the neon foam sticks, “I can’t wait for the neon foam sticks at the dance party”, and when they finally hit the dance floor, the energy skyrocketed. Guests waved them in the air, people were lifted up during songs, and more than a few brave dancers took to the tables.
Between the Norwegian Kransekake almond cake adorned with both Norwegian and American flags, and the electric energy from the crowd, the Grand Hall truly became the heart of the celebration. And when it was time to say goodbye, Danny and Isabel’s guests gathered outside of Creekside Event Center, waving those neon foam sticks high in the air for a grand exit that perfectly matched the joy of the night.
