Jackson Hole Micro Wedding at Teton Mountain Lodge
Rachel and Dominic’s Jackson Hole micro wedding was a reminder that staying true to yourself is the secret to planning an unforgettable celebration. While a big bash in their native Chicago was plan A, the couple reevaluated their desires midway through the planning process. Ultimately, they realized they had been trying to plan a wedding for everyone except themselves. They ended up planning an intimate summer wedding against the backdrop of the Tetons and inviting their closest loved ones. I was lucky enough to capture it!
Planning a Jackson Hole Micro Wedding
Rachel and Dominic chose Teton Mountain Lodge, a luxurious hotel and spa located one mile from the Grand Teton National Park entrance, as their Jackson Hole wedding venue. The hotel offers an elopement package that was perfect for their needs! From an officiant to a catered meal, it made planning their micro wedding as simple as making one phone call.
“Everything seems to be coming together almost seamlessly,” Rachel told me. While pivoting from planning a Chicago wedding to planning a Jackson Hole micro wedding wasn’t an easy decision, I knew right then and there that the couple had made the right choice. You shouldn’t have to sacrifice your peace to have an amazing wedding day!
Rooftop Wedding at Teton Mountain Lodge
A panoramic view of the mountains was the only backdrop Rachel and Dominic needed while exchanging their vows atop the Teton Mountain Lodge. After exchanging their vows, which they had handwrote in custom leather books, the couple enjoyed rooftop cocktails with their guests.
Then, they descended to the Teton Room for their reception. They danced to Nat King Cole’s “I Don’t Want to See Tomorrow,” ate a plated dinner catered by the hotel, and listened to heartfelt speeches from their guests. But the celebration wasn’t over yet! Everyone headed to the Million Dollar Cowboy Saloon for the rest of the evening to sip cocktails and dance to live music.
Day-After Session in Grand Teton National Park
Rachel and Dominic originally booked rehearsal dinner coverage as part of their wedding photography package. However, when their plans changed, we decided to exchange that coverage for a day-after session in Grand Teton National Park!
I spent the two days before their wedding hiking in the park and scouting for easily accessible locations, since both expressed a desire to do minimal walking. We ended up parking at Jenny Lake and exploring that area, snapping photos as we went. It was the perfect way for them to cap off the weekend and get portraits without the stress of sticking to a wedding day timeline (the incredible backdrops in the park didn’t hurt, either!).
I’m so glad I could photograph Rachel and Dominic’s Jackson Hole micro wedding! If you know me, you know I’m always down for an adventure. Whether it’s helping you with a radical overhaul of your wedding day vision or flying halfway across the world to capture your love, I’m your gal. Let’s get connected! Whatever location or event size you have in mind, I would love to document your special day.
Kind Words from Rachel
“Jennifer did a wonderful job on our wedding photos! Although I originally booked her for a traditional Chicago wedding, she was totally on board when I told her that my husband and I wanted to scrap that idea completely for an elopement in the Grand Tetons. She truly captured the story of the day. Her photography style is true to the events that happened and encapsulates the feeling of the day so well. She was also great at providing direction and guiding us. We love our pictures so much that we still haven't been able to narrow them down for our wedding album!”
