Brainard Lake Recreation Area Engagement Session in Boulder, Co | Carla and John
Brainard Lake Recreation Area in Boulder, Co is the absolute perfect place to take engagement pictures- especially if you have a beautiful Siberian Husky named Akira, and a love of dog kisses. Or at least Carla and John thought so! We decided to hike pass Brainard Lake, and focus on shooting at Long Lake. the lesser known sibling to Brainard, with just as beautiful views, and a few less people. This string of lakes (which also includes the incredible Lake Isabelle and Isabelle Glacier) are a part of the Indian Peaks Wilderness protected area in north central Colorado.
Carla and John moved out to Colorado in 2019 after meeting in Virginia when they were just teenagers! After John proposed at St Mary’s Glacier, we knew we had to find somewhere just as beautiful to go for their engagement session! We wanted an alpine lake, but also wanted to make sure we didn’t affect any of the fire evacuations going on all throughout Colorado right now. Long Lake was the perfect solution, with just a short hike from Brainard Lake; and overall beautiful views all throughout Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Avid horror movie fans, Carla and John were such an incredible pleasure to hang out while exploring the hiking trails and discussing the newest Netflix blunders. I for one am so happy they moved out to Colorado, and I absolutely love how much they love it here! It’s definitely the perfect place to raise their absolutely gorgeous Siberian Husky Akira.
