Denver Union Station 1920's Engagement Session in Denver, Co | Samantha and Michael
When Samantha and Michael told me they wanted to shoot their engagement session at Denver Union Station, I was already thrilled, it's one of my favorite spots for a stylish city session. But when they mentioned they’d be showing up in Gatsby-era 1920s attire to match the theme of their upcoming wedding, I about melted. These two showed up looking like they walked straight out of The Great Gatsby, and they absolutely nailed the vibe.
Historic Union Station in downtown Denver, Colorado couldn’t have been a more perfect backdrop. Built in 1914, the building’s mix of Beaux Arts Classicism and Italian Romanesque architecture created a timeless, elegant setting that felt like a natural extension of their wedding aesthetic. And lucky for us, the old “no kissing” rule that was established back in 1902 by the depot police is long gone, so yes, they were allowed to kiss to their hearts’ content!
A Love Story That Travels
Samantha and Michael’s story isn’t just vintage-inspired, it’s also a beautiful example of commitment through distance and time. The two first met in Florida, and when Michael moved to Texas, they made the brave choice to continue their relationship long distance. Anyone who’s done long-distance knows just how hard that can be, but they made it work.
As Samantha shared, “I knew he was the person I wanted to spend my life with.” And now, they’re getting ready to say "I do" in Colorado, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it.
The Wedding: Gatsby Glamour at Brittany Hill
Later this year, I’ll be photographing their Gatsby-themed destination wedding at Brittany Hill by Wedgewood Weddings in Thornton, Colorado. With its panoramic views of the city and mountains, Brittany Hill is a stunning location for a celebration, and I know their day is going to be filled with vintage charm, joyful moments, and a whole lot of sparkle.
Samantha and Michael are living proof that long-distance love can absolutely thrive, and their engagement session was the perfect way to capture their energy, style, and story.
