Fall Wedding on a Ranch in Mountain Home, Idaho | Tiffany and Curtis
You might remember Tiffany and Curtis from their Anderson Ranch Reservoir engagement session! The couple met through their local fishing club, the Mountain Home Hawg Hunters, when Curtis drew Tiffany as his tournament partner. After spending more time together enjoying their shared hobby, Curtis asked Tiffany on a date—and eventually, he asked her to marry him! The two tied the knot in a fall wedding last October on Tiffany’s parents’ ranch. It was a day full of fun, quality time with family, and adorable animals. I’m so glad I could photograph it!
All-Day Photography Coverage for a DIY Wedding
Avoiding wedding-planning overwhelm was a top priority for Tiffany, who said in her questionnaire, “I’m hoping for no stress! I’m just excited to get married.” She and Curtis chose her parents’ ranch as their wedding venue because it was “easy” (and the panoramic mountain views didn’t hurt, either!). Although hosting a wedding on private property can be a logistical challenge, the bride avoided overcomplicating her special day by DIY-ing several key elements, including the signage and florals. She and Curtis even cooked their guests’ dinner, which their family members served!
The couple also kept their stress levels low by booking all-day wedding photography coverage. I worked with them to customize their coverage to their timeline so that my camera wouldn’t miss a moment! From getting ready at a friend’s home—Tiffany with her childhood cat, Hubba, and Curtis with his 16-year-old daughter, Madison—to starry night portraits after partying into the wee hours with their guests, the couple has a gallery full of memories to look back on. Tiffany even said that, “Jen was the best choice I made for my wedding. We received all our pictures very quickly, and they were all organized in folders. I love the way she edited everything and how she caught all the special moments throughout the night!”
A Fall Wedding in the Backyard of an Idaho Ranch House
The fall season inspired Tiffany and Curtis when planning their wedding day. They chose a color palette of rich seasonal shades, including navy blue and burgundy. In addition, they brought fall-themed elements, including pumpkins and hay bales, into their decor. Even their dessert table was autumnal! They served Costco pumpkin pies and pumpkin Swiss roll instead of a traditional wedding cake.
The backyard celebration was also family-friendly and included a bounce house to entertain the many kids in attendance! Tilly, the bride and groom’s one-year-old golden retriever, was also present for the entire day and beloved by young and old. From running up the aisle sans wedding rings and jumping on Tiffany and Curtis during their ceremony, to “dancing” with Tiffany at the end of the night, her antics were so fun to capture! I love it when my couples include their dog in their wedding day and have many tips for doing so.
Getting to photograph Tiffany and Curtis’ engagement session and their fall wedding was an honor! Working with a couple from engagement to “I do” is my favorite as a photographer because I can get to know you and your love story. If you’re seeking an Idaho wedding photographer for your special day, I’d love to hear about it! Let’s connect, so we can discover if we’re a perfect fit.
Planning a wedding day that feels authentic to you and your partner, whether by DIY-ing your decor or saying “I do” on a cattle ranch, will always beat trying to fit into a cookie-cutter mold. Check out more weddings I’ve photographed below!
