Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort Wedding | Carrie and Eran
I’m so excited that these two were featured on Smashing The Glass! Go check out their featured post!
It’s not every day that a groom says, “will you marry me?” and “I do” in the exact same spot. But when Eran asked Carrie to marry him at the beautiful Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort, he suspected they’d be back for a Mount Princeton wedding celebration! While this all sounds so dreamy, though, their engagement experience wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. In fact, there wasn’t any sunshine involved at all!
Carrie and Eran were headed to the resort together for a romantic getaway, but got caught in a snowstorm on the way up. Then, naturally, they got a flat tire! But what began as a bummer of a trip ended in elation because Eran had something special up his sleeve. Eran took Carrie to a shop in Mount Princeton, where she called the gemstones on display just “OK.” Which is precisely the answer he wanted. At that exact moment, Eran said, “Well, what do you think about this one?” and pulled out a breathtaking, custom-made engagement ring! Which just so happens to match perfectly with Eran’s wedding band—engraved in Hebrew in Carrie’s handwriting, “I am my beloved and my beloved is mine.”
They then dove into wedding planning wholeheartedly, exquisitely planning every little detail. Not a single element of the celebration didn’t have Carrie’s touch on it. Everything about their wedding was custom-made—Carrie’s dress and jewelry, both of the wedding rings, Eran’s suit, and more! This is when a detail-oriented photographer is an absolute must-have. After pouring so much energy and love into designing each element, the couple wanted to ensure it was all documented with care. So, I gave every aspect an extra degree of attention, which paid off in the final gallery!
But, amidst all the craziness of planning their wedding, Carrie and Eran knew how important it was to take time to document their engagement, too. I first met the couple and their adorable rescue dog, Murphy, for a creekside engagement session months before the big day. While we can’t always integrate dogs into the wedding day, I love when a couple’s pet can be part of the engagement session! These two are adventurers at heart, so they willingly climbed up on rocks for lots of stunning photos. And Murphy was undeniably the star of the show!
The Mount Princeton wedding day reflected their adventurousness, too, but it also had many of the traditional elements some couples feel they have to forego to capture that feel. I always encourage couples to think outside the box, and Carrie and Eran did exactly that! The day before the wedding, they had a pool party at the resort, complete with a giant water slide! Talk about a fun way to start a family-filled wedding weekend.
The following day, Carrie got ready in a wooden cabin with her bridesmaids. While getting ready for the day ahead, they wore organic bath wraps and Bombas socks, which they joked Carrie would have to wear under her dress! After hair and makeup, Carrie put on her simple v-neck, custom-made dress from Alyssa Kristin and stepped into her Sam Edelman shoes. Meanwhile, Eran got ready in his blue Indochino suit and classy Tissot watch in the cabin next door. Eran’s suit and vest were both lined in blue Hawaiian print, which was a fun customized touch!
After Carrie put the finishing touches on her handwritten vows in her cabin, we walked outside to the river for their first look. By the water, Eran spontaneously gave Carrie a yellow daisy he’d picked, and the two enjoyed a quiet moment alone before the ceremony.
The ceremony was held in a lush green field with white flower petals lining the aisle. Carrie and Eran had many traditional Jewish ceremonial elements, including taking Kiddush from a heirloom wine cup that originally belonged to Carrie’s Great-Grandmother! It was magical to get to include a piece of her history in the big day.
They continued the ceremony with Seven Blessings from seven of their closest friends, and ended the event with the breaking of the glass. Just as some rain began to sprinkle down, the pair were pronounced husband and wife, and raced off to celebrate their "Yichud" together. This Jewish wedding tradition encourages the newlyweds to spend eight minutes in seclusion to reflect and rejoice privately on their new union. The rest of the guests ran into the reception site to escape the rain and continue the celebration.
Because she knew she wanted to break it down on the dance floor, Carrie added a removable skirt from Casablanca Bridal to her dress. She made her grand entrance into the venue in a beautiful short dress and long pearl necklace, and the party kicked into gear. A laughter-filled hora set the tone for a fun night, and the guests immediately flooded the dance floor.
While the DJ from Colorado Wedding Productions kept the energy high, we headed outside for sweet sunset portraits. The pair were able to enjoy a little bit of alone time together before heading back in for some choreographed dances and speeches. The final event of the night (and the one Carrie and Eran was the most excited for!) was the pink ice cream truck from locally crafted High Point Creamery, adequately named #BigPinky, which arrived right before the second big rainstorm. In true Colorado fashion, the weather kept surprising us until the very last moment!
I loved photographing Carrie and Eran’s beautiful wedding at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort. They chose all-day coverage, so I was able to stay until the very end of the night, capturing every unforgettable moment. Curious what all-day wedding photography coverage is like? I’d love to share all the ins and outs with you, so get in touch!
