Meadow Creek Lodge

As an avid outdoorswoman, I love being a Denver wedding photographer. From alpine forests to snowcapped mountain peaks, there’s so much to explore mere miles from the city limits. And when it comes to outdoor wedding venues in Colorado, nature-loving couples have options galore. Whether you’re envisioning a campground wedding under the stars, a ceremony tucked into an alpine meadow, or an elegant garden soiree, you can bring it to life here. Let’s explore the wedding venues that make Denver such a stand-out destination for an outdoor celebration!

Why Consider Denver for an Outdoor Wedding?

In Colorado, there’s no need to choose between skyscrapers and nature when planning your wedding day. Denver, with its proximity to the Rocky Mountains, offers the best of both worlds! Every season is beautiful here, from the lushness of spring and summer to fall’s famous foliage and winter’s snowfall.

But when you plan an outdoor wedding in the Denver area, there’s no need to rough it in exchange for appreciating natural beauty. The city’s hotels, Airbnbs, restaurants, breweries, and cultural attractions are at your fingertips. Additionally, most major airports in the U.S. offer direct flights to Denver, making it a convenient destination for nature-loving couples from all across the country.

Should You Have a Campground Wedding Near Denver?

Something I love about Denver is its proximity to beautiful outdoor spaces, which allow you to experience an intimate connection with nature while also hosting an epic party with minimal restrictions. For the nature-loving couple who enjoys flexing their creative muscle, the area’s campgrounds provide a blank canvas for planning an entire weekend of celebration and fun! Both budget- and pet-friendly, these venues offer the opportunity to sleep under the stars after saying “I do.” My favorite campground and camp-style wedding venues near Denver include:

If planning a campground wedding, be sure to thoroughly consider the logistics (or hire a wedding planner to help you). You should have an answer for all of the following questions:

  • Is the location an established wedding venue, or just a campground?

  • How many guests can the location safely host? Is there sufficient parking space for both guests and vendors?

  • Does the location require any permits? Are there any alcohol, fire, or noise restrictions?

  • Does the location have bathroom facilities?

  • What kinds of on-site lodging are available?

  • How will you dispose of trash?

  • How long will you have access to specific spaces, such as pavilions or covered areas?

  • Are you prepared for inclement weather?

  • How far is the drive from Denver? Do you need to provide transportation for your guests?
