Downtown Denver Wedding Venues
McNichols Civic Center
The McNichols Civic Center, built in 1909, was once the city’s first library. Now, it’s an art gallery and event center for gorgeous Denver weddings! The open, three-story structure affords you the ultimate creativity in bringing your vision to life, and the freedom to invite as many guests as you want. Plus, you’ll be supporting a great cause—all revenue generated from events at the center goes to funding the city’s cultural programming.
This venue is conveniently located in Denver’s Civic Center Park, in the heart of downtown. With green spaces and neoclassical architecture, the park is a fantastic spot for portraits! When I photographed Alex and Ricky’s wedding (pictured below), we took their bridal portraits and wedding party portraits in the park.

Mile High Station
Mile High Station is located in the building that once housed Midwest Steel and Ironworks, dating back to 1897. Its renovators preserved as many of the building’s original features as they could, including the brick walls and “l-beam” steel structure. The result is a large space with an industrial-chic feel, perfect for dressing up or down to create your dream event.
With space for 1,200 standing or 550 seated guests, this venue is ideal for large weddings. There are 200 on-site parking spots, making it a convenient destination for guests traveling from out of town. Moreover, this venue has an outdoor space—a rarity in the city! Its West Patio is perfect for an outdoor ceremony or cocktail hour.

SKYLIGHT
Couples who love historic features with a side of modern neutrals will love SKYLIGHT! The venue’s white brick walls, exposed structural beams, and abundant natural light give it an airy feel rarely found in historic venues. And while its architectural features have character, it’s also a blank slate ready to be transformed into your wedding vision. I had the chance to photograph a styled shoot at SKYLIGHT, which reimagined the space with a blend of romantic, soft pink tones and boho-inspired textures.

Grant-Humphreys Mansion
As the former home of Colorado’s third governor, the Grant-Humphreys Mansion exemplifies the elegance of a bygone era. Built in 1902, the Beaux-Arts-style structure offers a classic setting for Denver weddings. The first floor’s ballroom, library, and parlor display antique furnishings, and getting-ready suites are just up the sweeping staircase. However, the mansion’s interior isn’t all there is to love about this venue! The south-facing terrace and expansive grounds are also lovely—perfect for saying “I do” or sitting down to dinner in the open air, with the stately main house as a backdrop.

Great Hall Central at Union Station
At 10,000 square feet, the Great Hall Central in Denver’s Union Station is one of downtown’s grandest event spaces. The historic building originally opened in 1881, and has since been rebuilt and expanded while retaining its Beaux-Arts and Classical Revival-style influences. Glittering chandeliers hang from the towering ceilings, while century-old arched windows admit plenty of natural light.
The Crawford Hotel, which is adjacent to Union Station, manages the space. Notably, the transportation hub also serves as the hotel’s lobby. Interested couples should know that events in the Grand Hall are “semi-public,” meaning that the space will continue to serve its other functions during your event.
Starting Fee: Available upon inquiry.

Pet-Friendly: The Crawford Hotel is dog-friendly, and Union Station allows dogs as long as they’re kept off the furniture.
The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block
The Maven Hotel is located in the Dairy Block, a micro-district of Denver’s vibrant LoDo neighborhood. The block takes its name from the site’s former use as the Windsor Dairy, and features brick facades, cool signage, and more potential backdrops for bridal portraits. Its main alleyway is accessible from the hotel’s reception space, which can be opened up in the summer months. I shot Amy and Mark’s portraits and their sparkler send-off in the alley area!
Inside the hotel, there are 2,100 square feet of flexible event space. The Windsor Room, home to most of the hotel’s weddings and events, has a built-in stage and capacity for 180 seated guests, but can also be split into two smaller rooms to create a more intimate feel. The space opens onto the alleyway through the stage, merging your event with the dynamic atmosphere of the city on warm nights.

Moss Denver
Moss is housed in a historic former manufacturing facility in the Santa Fe Art District. Its owners are skilled craftsmen who have breathed new life into the space! There are two main event spaces, the Chandelier Room and the Edison Room, each over 2,500 square feet. The Chandelier Room is named for the impressive light fixtures hanging in the space and features a white brick wall and large windows overlooking the surrounding neighborhood. Meanwhile, The Edison Room draws inspiration from the natural world, with moss-covered rotating walls and a glass ceiling that mimics the night sky.
Starting Fee: $5,000
Capacity: 200
Site Rental Duration: Ten hours

Denver Museum of Nature & Science
At the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, you and your guests will be surrounded by the wonders of the natural world while you celebrate! This venue’s indoor and outdoor event spaces can be rented simultaneously, allowing your event to showcase different atmospheres and viewpoints in the same location. The Anschutz Family Terrace, pictured below, is one of my favorite spaces, boasting views of City Park, Denver’s skyline, and the Rocky Mountains.
The museum is in City Park, a 330-acre urban park with fountains, lakes, and a boathouse. This is a great location for a first look and portraits! The picturesque rose gardens, also pictured below, are conveniently located just outside the museum’s doors.
Starting Fee: $5,000
