Rocky Mountain National Park Fall Engagement Session | Kayla and Kyle
The best part of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado is that you can stop absolutely anywhere (within reason!) and take some incredible engagement photos. This is such a welcome ideal when it is the middle of fall, and the aspens are a beautiful shade of yellow. Kayla and Kyle had dreams of getting married the weekend we met up in RMNP, but Covid had other plans and we instead embarked on an adventure to find the fall colors these two love.
During this time of year, the elk residing in Rocky Mountain National Park migrate to lower fields, like Moraine field, for mating season. The rutting call of 1200 pound bull elks can be heard from dusk to dawn. After photographing at Bear Lake, we headed out towards the entrance and were lucky enough to catch the sunset setting over the mountains. Not to mention a herd of rutting elks covering the field beneath us.
While I know that this day was not exactly how Kayla and Kyle imagined it, I know that it’s also hard to beat the beautiful nature of Colorado. I’m so glad I was able to spend this day celebrating with these two, and capture their smiles, love, and hugs while we watched such an incredible event of nature.
