Kilbuck Creek fall wedding in Monroe Center, IL | Becca and Mike

Becca and Mike had an incredible fall wedding at Kilbuck Creek in Monroe Center, IL, and even a little bit of rain could not put a damper on the festivities. It’s hard to decorate a venue as beautiful as Kilbuck Creek, when the surrounding nature does all of the work for you. Leaves were falling from the trees right up until the moment we had to run inside due to rain, and even that did not stop anyone from partying the night away. Becca and Mike had originally toured a ton of venues closer to their home in Chicago, IL, but I am so glad that ended up at Kilbuck Creek for their wedding, as this picturesque venue is truly one of a kind!

We started the day off with an incredibly unique first look, as Mike really wanted to see Becca walk down the aisle in her wedding dress. This ended up being the best idea, as we were able to capture the two of them at their ideal ceremony location, before bringing everything in due to weather. Becca walked down the leaf lined path, and Mike turned around as soon as she reached Kilbuck Creek’s wooden ceremonial benches. Becca cried, Mike cried, and the two embraced before we raced them off into the woods for some pre-wedding ceremony portraits.

Even though we had to move the evening events indoors, the team at Kilbuck Creek in Monroe Center, IL did a beautiful job of decorating the dance hall with twinkle lights, and white uplights to accent their now indoor ceremony. Their ceremony was also without a dry eye, as Reverend Paul from I Do Weddings recounted their love story from start to finish- dance moves, and anecdotes included.

Although Oliver played a very small part in the festivities, I definitely have to mention that Becca and Mike were able to have their dog in attendance too; and nothing makes a beautiful wedding more special than being able to include your four-legged family members. They also had a short reading during their ceremony aptly titled, “What I Learned About Love, I Learned from My Dog”.

The whole day was beautiful, rain included, and Becca and Mike’s wedding at Kilbuck Creek was a day to remember; creating one life out of two, or as Mike said during his vows, “Falling in love with you, wasn’t a fall at all – it was walking into a house and knowing I was home.”
