Long Lake Engagement Session in Boulder, Co | Carrie and Eran

2020 was a monster of a year, but it did give me a chance to get to know Carrie and Eran just a bit better before their Mount Princeton Hot Springs wedding in Colorado! With a portion of Eran’s family traveling from overseas, they had to postpone till the next year while waiting for international travel restrictions to lift- which I totally get. These two have a whole weekend of wedding events planned, and having the whole family together for them will make for an unforgettable experience.

While we flirted with a few different locations for their Colorado engagement session, we ended up heading to the Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Home to gorgeous mountain views, alpine lakes, and more trees than one to count, this incredible Indian peaks Wilderness zone is one of my favorite location to photograph at- especially for a couple like this. Carrie and Eran are pet parents to the adopted, and very cuddly, mixed-breed Murphy. I know this for a fact, as I sat in the backseat with him on the drive up!

We arrived just in time for the sun to start setting behind the mountains, at it was so much fun to get to see all of Carrie and Eran’s love in action. After moving from Washington DC to Colorado, they decided to take their sweet time in taking the next step in their relationship. Carrie shares, “We've taken our time to really allow ourselves the time and space to come together spiritually and romantically.” Every single couple has a different journey on their way to getting married, and I love getting not only hear, but witness these journeys when photographing my couples.

Long Lake provided such a beautiful backdrop for our Colorado engagement session, but what I’m really excited about is heading out to Mount Princeton Hot Springs in Nathrop Colorado to watch these two finally get married. Not only is it a gorgeous natural oasis surrounded by towering peaks, but it is where Carrie and Eran got engaged!

When my couples bring along a dog to an engagement session, it is literally my favorite thing ever! Check out more sessions below with some included fur-children.
